A friend sent me a link to Vivian Maier's work, which is incredible. Apparently the man who created the website for her work bought her negatives at an auction, having no idea what the images were nor of Ms. Maier's work. She was a nanny or something of the sort who shot thousands of rolls throughout her daily life and in doing so, created a huge body of exciting, unusual work, that memorializes a period of time long since gone with her own incredible eye.
It's bewildering to think she was never published, that she never showed her work publicly, but at least now her time has come.
