A friend sent me James Griffioen's work months ago and I was in love.His images of a dilapidated Detroit (and other cities) are the best I've seen; his innate sense of how to shoot the city, moving away from the spectacularly tragic to focus on the everyday, infusing it with a feeling of loss, intimacy, and history all without being sentimental.
